Each piece is listed with composer, title, instrumentation, and (but not always) a brief description of the work. The music is supplied free for personal use, including performances, and is supplied as PDFs. To help you choose, you can listen to part of the arrangement where there is a link.

Arensky – Basso Ostinato*

Instrumentation: 2Fl 2Ob 2Cl 2Hn 2Bn CBn(opt)

Duration: 4 minutes

Comments: An interesting piece in 5/4 with a 6-beat ostinato. A DB can be used but CBn is preferable.

Brahms – Hungarian Dance No.17*

Instrumentation: 2Fl 2Ob 2Cl 2Hn 2Bn

Duration: 2½ minutes

Comments: Slow and fast sections. Would make a good encore.

Brahms – Hungarian Dance No.4*

Instrumentation: 2Fl(both=P) 2Ob 2Cl 2Hn 2Bn

Duration: 3½ minutes

Comments: Slow and fast sections and a brisk middle section which uses 2 piccolos. It is possible to play the 2nd piccolo part on flute if absolutely necessary.

Flotow – Martha Finale Act IV

Instrumentation: 2Fl(2nd=P) 2Ob 2Cl 2Hn 2Bn

Duration: 4½ minutes

Comments: Originally arranged with singers, this has been adapted for DWQ. It is basically a pot-pourri of tunes, including the famous 'Last Rose of Summer'. There is an optional bass part.

Flotow – Martha Overture

Duration: 6½ minutes

Comments: An adaptation for DWQ of the nonet version. The sound sample is of the nonet but you'll get the idea.

Grieg – Wedding Day in Troldhagen*

Duration: 5½ minutes

Rossini – La cambiale di matrimonio*

Instrumentation: 2Fl 2Ob 2Cl 2Hn 2Bn DB(opt)

Duration: 5 minutes

Comments: Rossini's first opera.

Saint-Saëns – Bacchanale from Samson & Delila*

Duration: 7½ minutes

Comments: Arranged at the request of Kaleidoscope Wind, this is difficult but fun.

Schubert – Fantasia op.103*

Duration: 18 minutes

Comments: An early arrangement of Schubert's well-known piano duet.

Comments: Arranged to celebrate Schumann's 200th anniversary in 2010. 5 movements.

Sousa – The Thunderer*

Duration: 3 minutes

Comments: The 2nd flute can be played by another piccolo or omitted. The bass (or contra) is desirable but can be omitted.

Strauss J. – Die Fledermaus Finale Act II

Instrumentation: 2Fl(2=P) 2Ob 2Cl 2Hn 2Bn DB(opt,)

Duration: 5½ minutes

Comments: Originally arranged with singers, this has been adapted for DWQ with optional double bass. It is basically a pot-pourri of tunes from the opera.
